Nihon Kohden Launches NK-HealthProtect™ to Help Health Professionals during COVID-19 in the U.S.

Nihon Kohden America (IRVINE, Calif.), a group company of the Company, has launched NK-HealthProtect™ which is Nihon Kohden’s line of advanced feature and product configurations designed to help healthcare professionals during a public health threat.

NK-HealthProtect™ Patient Triage Solution is a complete kit that includes SVM-7200 Vital Signs Monitor to help evaluate patients potentially suffering from COVID-19. NK-HealthProtect™ Wireless Surge Solution is designed to aid emergency departments during patient overflows, consisting of eight GZ-140 wearable monitors and a laptop loaded with Prefense Early Detection & Notification System*. NK-HealthProtect™ Pop-up ICU Solution is developed to allow hospitals to rapidly expand capacity during a health crisis, consisting of sixteen BSM-6300 Series bedside monitors and a CNS-6801 Central Station.

Nihon Kohden also launched NK AWS-S200 Video Laryngoscope in US to help clinicians quickly, safely intubate patients and has begun worldwide shipments of the Protective Control feature for their NKV-550 ventilators, which is the only critical care ventilator, at the time of the press release on August 27, that has received US FDA’s 510(k) clearance for this feature. Protective Control allows the clinician to operate the ventilator through a second user interface placed outside of the isolated patient’s room. Both products are to help reduce the virus exposure of clinicians.
