Nihon Kohden introduces cardiolife TEC-5500 series compact defibrillators

August 20, 2004

TOKYO, JAPAN - Nihon Kohden adds compact defibrillators, the cardiolife TEC-5500 series, to its defibrillator line-up.

TEC-5500 is more compact and affordable than the high end TEC-7700 defibrillators, but still provides many valuable features. Fast charging, SpO2 and CO2 options, and recording of voice and ECG on SD memory card.

TEC-5500 uses biphasic waveform defibrillation which requires lower energy than conventional monophasic and causes less damage to myocardium. Nihon Kohden's unique ActiBiphasic(TM) technology provides more efficient defibrillation than conventional biphasic circuits.

Nihon Kohden is Japan's largest manufacturer and distributor of medical electronic equipment. For more information, visit the Company's web site at www.nihonkohden.com.
