Nihon Kohden announces AG-400R sidestream CO2 unit with low sampling flow

September 1, 2003

TOKYO, JAPAN - Nihon Kohden released a revolutionary low sampling flow sidestream CO2 unit, AG-400R. Its sampling flow rate is only 50 ml per min which makes it ideal for newborns, pulmonary disease patients and patients under sedation. CO2 measurement is important for monitoring breathing, circulation and metabolism.

AG-400R is especially ideal for neonate monitoring because of its small size, light weight, and only 0.5 ml dead space in the neonate airway adapter. The dead space is an important factor with the small tidal volume of the neonate. AG-400R can also be used with both intubated and non-intubated patients.

The AG-400R connects to Nihon Kohden Life Scope P, A and i bedside monitors to economically add CO2 measurement.

Nihon Kohden is Japan's leading manufacturer, developer and distributor of patient monitors, defibrillators, ECGs, EEGs, EP/EMGs, hematology analyzers and other medical electronic equipment with subsidiaries in the United States, Europe and Asia and distributors in nearly every country in the world.
