Impact of Tohoku Pacific Earthquake on Nihon Kohden

Nihon Kohden (the “Company”) announces the impact of Tohoku Pacific Earthquake on the Company’s Group, as of March 14, 9:00 a.m.

We have confirmed that all employees are safe in sales offices which are located in affected areas. We are continuing to work to obtain information on their family and provide relief goods to them first. Lifelines such as electricity, water and gas have been recovered in some affected offices. As requested by affected medical institutions and associations, we also started to check medical devices in present use as well as renting medical devices.

Headquarters started normal operations by employees who can commute. Nihon Kohden Group companies which were less affected by the earthquake also started normal operations.

Although there were some damages to Tomioka plant in Gunma prefecture and Tsurugashima office in Saitama prefecture, they are expected to resume normal operations from March, 14, except the rolling blackouts.
