Nihon Kohden Corporation announced today that it will open a new sales branch of Nihon Kohden Middle East (NKME), one of its sales subsidiaries, aiming to expand its sales in East Africa. The new sales branch will start operations in December 2017.
Nihon Kohden established NKME in 2012 and has strengthened its business structure in the Middle East and Africa.
In Africa, the medical infrastructure has been developing in accordance with economic growth and the medical device market is expected to grow. Nihon Kohden aims to increase customer satisfaction by opening a new sales branch in Kenya and enhancing sales support for distributors in 22 countries in East Africa.
Nihon Kohden’s mid-term business plan, TRANSFORM 2020, calls for the Company to conduct strategic business expansion to meet medical needs in high growth emerging markets. The Company will continue to expand its overseas business by strengthening its local business structure and providing high quality advanced medical devices.
The effect of creation of the new sales branch on the consolidated results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2018 will be minor.
