TOKYO, JAPAN - The Nihon Kohden Group has been working to establish a framework for increasing production of the NKV-330 ventilator at the Tomioka Production Center (Tomioka City, Gunma Prefecture), as the Company announced on April 15. The Company aims to supply 1,000 units by the end of September to meet the needs of medical institutions in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nihon Kohden has been cooperating with Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (“Honda”) in production of 1,000 units of carts for use with ventilators and will start to deliver the carts made by Honda from August.

The carts manufactured at Honda R&D Co., Ltd (Wako City, Saitama Prefecture) were first delivered to Nihon Kohden on July 16. After final inspection at the Tomioka Production Center, those carts will be provided to medical institutions together with the ventilators.

The Nihon Kohden Group is proceeding with the increased production of ventilators and patient monitors at the Tomioka Production Center in cooperation with Honda, other automobile and electronics manufacturers, and the Japanese government.
