Nihon Kohden to reorganize its group companies in Europe

Nihon Kohden Corporation announced today that the Company will reorganize its group companies in Europe, aiming to expand its sales there.
Nihon Kohden Firenze (NKF), a wholly owned subsidiary of Nihon Kohden, became affiliated with Nihon Kohden Europe (NKE), a wholly owned subsidiary of Nihon Kohden in April 2015. NKF manufactures and provides hematology analyzer reagents in Europe.
NKE will also establish Nihon Kohden Deutschland GmbH (NKDE) in June 2015 to provide sales and after-sales support for medical devices in the German-speaking DACH countries of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Until now, NKE has provided sales and after-sales support for medical devices in DACH countries. Nihon Kohden decided to establish NKDE and further develop these markets because these countries are a large market and demand for medical devices is expected to maintain steady growth.
NKE will concentrate on management of its overall European business operation, and its 5 sales subsidiaries in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and the UK will concentrate on sales and after-sales support activities tailored to specific needs in each country.
Until now, NKE has provided hematology analyzers and NKF has manufactured and provided reagents. Nihon Kohden decided to affiliate NKF with NKE to expand hematology analyzer business in Europe. NKE and NKF also aim to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the quality system in reagent production.
Nihon Kohden’s mid-term business plan, Strong Growth 2017, calls for the Company to strengthen business expansion in each region. Through these reorganizations, the Company aims to enhance its business structure in Europe as well as provide quality products and good after-sales support.
