Nihon Kohden establishes sales subsidiary in Malaysia

Nihon Kohden Corporation announced today that it established a sales subsidiary, Nihon Kohden Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to expand sales across the Asia-Pacific region. The new subsidiary will begin operations soon.
Until now Nihon Kohden has conducted sales operations in Malaysia using local agencies and a subsidiary in Singapore to support operations.
In Malaysia, a new law regarding import and distribution of medical devices is being enacted from July 2014. The new sales subsidiary will manage import licenses, strengthen collaboration with local agencies and expand the sales network to strengthen sales and service activities which meet local specifications in Malaysia.
Nihon Kohden’s “Strong Growth 2017” mid-term business plan calls for the Company to strengthen operations in emerging markets in which sustainable growth is expected. Nihon Kohden will continue to develop products which are tailored to emerging markets as well as expand its sales networks and provide quality products and good after-sales service.
